The company does not even check for damage to a supposed vehicle let alone injury to a supposed person. ]]> Comment on Hip Replacements could cause toxic metal poisoning by Mary http://www.personalinjurysupport.org/hip-replacements-toxic-metal-poisoning#comment-253 Mary Mon, 12 Mar 2012 23:07:59 +0000 http://www.personalinjurysupport.org/?p=379#comment-253 I had a Metal on Metal hip in Jan 2010 when I was 43 and had to have revision surgery to a ceramic total hip in July 2011.My blood results revealed that I had cobalt and chromium levels up in the thousands and I also had a sack of fluid around the metal device that was full of metal debris.I am so astounded that the media has latched onto the PIP business and has shown relatively little interest in the issues related to these metal on metal hips.I now have a leg length difference of 12mm which is surprisingly significant and I have no idea how my health will be affected in the longer term and how ,as a fairly young hip patient,how many future revisions I will need.I would be very interested to hear of other people who have had simular experiences and how they are moving forward after such a frightening ordeal.
